START PHOTOSHOP AND CREATE A NEW DOCUMENT

To do so, go to the ‘File‘ menu and select ‘New‘. Choose a size of 10 pixels for both width and length, 300 dpi resolution and set the value ‘Transparent‘ for the field ‘Background Content‘.

CREATE YOUR PATTERN

In this example, we want to create a geometric pattern with an oblique texture (see image for more details).

Go to the ‘Edit‘ menu and choose ‘Define Pattern‘, then give your new pattern a name and press the ‘OK’ button.

USE YOUR NEW PATTERN ON A NEW FILE

Open a new file, define the size you want for your print file e.g. 25 cm x 25 cm, 300 dpi

Go to the ‘Edit‘ menu and choose the ‘Fill‘ item, under the content item use: ‘Pattern‘ and select the previously created personal pattern.

And here is your pattern recreated on the print file.
